Job Title: International Food Importer PR and Communications Manager

Location: West London, Hybrid

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced PR and Communications Manager to join our team as an International Food Importer PR and Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, industry spokespeople, and influencers related to Japanese food in the UK and Europe.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in communication management, preferably within the food service or culinary industry. They will be fluent in English and Japanese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Build and maintain a network of external stakeholders and industry spokespeople in the Japanese food category in the UK and Europe.
  2. Conduct research to gain a holistic view of external stakeholders and industry spokespeople related to Japanese food in the UK and Europe.
  3. Identify, negotiate, and agree contracts with influencers/professionals and organizations related to Japanese food.
  4. Attend meetings to understand briefs, end results, costs, timescales, and keep partners and internal stakeholders up-to-date on PR activities.
  5. Develop industry, sector, and product-focused PR campaigns.
  6. Prepare and manage communication plans for potential crises, ensuring the company's reputation is maintained and effectively protected.
  7. Create PR strategies that envision the dissemination of information, including word of mouth, to ensure the goodness, technology, and quality of Japanese food are spread throughout the UK and Europe over the medium to long term.
  8. Lead the creation of new PR strategies and drafting of proposals.
  9. Develop events and campaigns to increase interest and understanding of Japanese food amongst internal members of the company.
  10. Ensure all communication materials adhere to brand guidelines and accurately reflect the company's values and objectives.
  11. Collect product information and business know-how on Japanese food from the parent company and convey those to the London Office.
  12. Prepare budget information and control the actual performances of Japanese food PR activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communication management, preferably within the food service or culinary industry.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to craft engaging narratives.
  • Proficiency in social media channels and how to use them to boost brand recognition and audience engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

About You:

You will be a motivated and experienced professional with a passion for Japanese food and culture. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. You will be fluent in Japanese and have a strong understanding of the Japanese food industry.
