Job Title: Trainee Solicitor

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Solicitor in our Edinburgh office.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team of experienced solicitors, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients in need. As a Trainee Solicitor, you will work under the guidance of our experienced solicitors, assisting with the delivery of our services and developing your skills and knowledge in the field of criminal and civil law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the provision of legal advice and representation to clients in need
  • Work under the guidance of experienced solicitors to develop your skills and knowledge in the field of criminal and civil law
  • Contribute to the delivery of our services, including developing partnership and referral links with local organisations
  • Support the delivery of training to advice agencies and contribute to our working groups
  • Develop your knowledge of the wider legal aid system and the areas of legal work conducted by the Scottish Legal Aid Board
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have some knowledge of the civil and/or criminal justice systems, experience of dealing with vulnerable client groups, and a keen interest in developing your advocacy skills to promote access to justice.

You will also need to be able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and have strong organisational and time management skills.
