Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Carpentry and Joinery Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with expertise in carpentry and joinery to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview:

In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will oversee cost management, procurement, and contract management, working closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers.

  1. Oversee cost management for carpentry and joinery projects from tender through to completion.
  2. Manage procurement processes, including negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  3. Monitor financial progress, prepare valuations, and manage payments.
  4. Conduct regular cost reporting and risk assessments.
  5. Assess and value variations and deal with contract claims.
  6. Liaise with project teams to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  7. Provide strategic advice on cost planning, value engineering, and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  2. 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years focused on carpentry and joinery.
  3. Solid knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and market conditions within the carpentry and joinery sector.
  4. Experience managing high-value contracts and complex projects.
  5. Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
  6. Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
