Primary SEN Support Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Primary Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis in a mainstream primary school. The successful candidate will be supporting a sensory room for pupils with ASC on a small group basis.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD), and Behavioural difficulties
- Safeguarding training and a drive to help others make progress
- Previous experience working within a school environment supporting Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) pupils
- Teaching Assistant experience in a primary or secondary setting
In this role, you will be expected to motivate, encourage, and monitor pupils as they progress with the work set by the class teacher. This will include general classroom TA activities throughout the day and overall participation in activities.
Your ability to provide constructive and relevant feedback to parents is essential in your role within the school. Effective communication is crucial, so it is vital that all applicants can communicate effectively.
BenefitsThis full-time position is scheduled to last until July 2024. The salary for this role is approximately £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. Teaching Personnel offers free child protection and prevent duty training to all registered candidates. Additionally, assistance is provided for valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
