Job Title: BIM Engineer - Highway Design Specialist

Job Summary:

Calibre Search Ltd is seeking a highly skilled BIM Engineer to join their specialist BIM team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in highway engineering design and a strong understanding of BIM principles and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Model Coordination: Aggregate and coordinate multiple discipline-specific BIM models to ensure seamless integration and collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • BIM Coordination Meetings: Facilitate regular meetings to review models, address issues, and ensure effective communication among team members.
  • Clash Detection and Resolution: Perform clash detection and resolution using software tools like Navisworks to identify and resolve conflicts in the BIM models.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure effective collaboration and ensure that BIM models comply with project standards and industry best practices.
  • Quality Checks and Audits: Conduct regular quality checks and audits on the BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • BIM Execution Plan (BEP): Manage and update the BIM Execution Plan to ensure that all project stakeholders are aware of the BIM process and requirements.
  • Construction Documents and Reports: Produce detailed construction documents and reports from the coordinated BIM models to ensure that all project stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information.
  • BIM-Related Activities and Decisions: Maintain accurate records of BIM-related activities and decisions to ensure that all project stakeholders are aware of the BIM process and requirements.
  • Project Schedules and Timelines: Assist the BIM Manager/Project Manager in developing project schedules and timelines to ensure that all project stakeholders are aware of the project timeline and requirements.
  • Site Visits and Surveys: Conduct regular site visits and surveys, including Drone Surveys, to ensure that all project stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information.

Requirements:

  • BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Previous Highways Engineering design experience (preferably of Local Authority major projects).
  • Good understanding of BIM Standards.
  • Previous BIM Modelling Experience.
