About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Director to join our team at Forseven. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our legal strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing strategic guidance to our business leaders.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, with a deep understanding of UK laws and regulations. They will also have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement our legal strategy, aligned with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor our Legal team, providing strategic direction and ensuring high performance.
  • Establish and implement best practices for legal operations, including management of relationships with external law firms.
  • Oversee the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements, including global partnerships, digital and IP, sales and procurement.
  • Manage and resolve complex domestic and international legal disputes and litigation, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
  • Provide strategic and operational support for our Chief Legal Officer, including deputising at key meetings and events.
  • Work closely cross-functionally, including Engineering and Purchasing, to provide legal support, training and guidance.
  • Set and manage legal costs/budget.
  • International Projects: Opportunities to lead complex global projects, with project management of external lawyers.
