Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a leading Therapeutic Education Service in Liverpool. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentorship and Support: Provide curriculum-based support to learners, both in the classroom and through home tuition, outreach, and outdoor activities.
  • Learning Materials and Delivery: Assist in preparing learning materials and contribute to achieving learning objectives, with a strong emphasis on behavioural management.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain daily reports on learners' progress and address any barriers to learning.
  • Family Engagement: Regularly communicate and interact with parents and caregivers to ensure a holistic approach to education.
Requirements
  • Passion for SEND: Demonstrates a committed and passionate approach to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in a SEND environment or similar educational setting.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous.

About the School

The provision is a co-educational school that provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 5-17. The school caters for pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour. The school supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental wellbeing needs.

Additionally, many of our pupils present with significant social and communication difficulties influenced by trauma or complex emotional difficulties. The school prides itself on providing specialised interventions that those provided in a mainstream school.
