Senior Lecturer in Accounting

The Accounting and Financial Management Department at Northumbria University is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join its Accounting Subject as an Associate Professor of Accounting. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate academic excellence and provide leadership in their discipline, contributing to the Faculty's strategic priorities and the University's research and teaching goals.
The role holder will lead and contribute to research activities, increasing the level of inclusiveness in the subject and the department, and delivering research outputs, income generation, and impact as agreed by the department's Research leadership team. We are interested in hearing from candidates with expertise in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting, and a robust research agenda and evidence of previous research funding success are essential.
The successful candidate will also contribute to delivering the Faculty's strategic priorities, which include the integration of high-quality research, excellent teaching, and the provision of leadership on a range of diverse portfolios within an academic context. The role holder will assist the Head of Department and the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor to maintain, enhance, and improve the University's national and international reputation in their academic field.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to research activities in the Accounting Subject
Provide academic leadership and contribute to the Faculty's strategic priorities
Deliver research outputs, income generation, and impact as agreed by the department's Research leadership team
Contribute to teaching and learning activities in the Accounting Subject
Assist the Head of Department and the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor to maintain, enhance, and improve the University's national and international reputation in their academic field
Requirements
PhD in Accounting or a related field
Expertise in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting
Robust research agenda and evidence of previous research funding success
Ability to lead and contribute to research activities and deliver research outputs, income generation, and impact
Ability to provide academic leadership and contribute to the Faculty's strategic priorities
Ability to contribute to teaching and learning activities in the Accounting Subject
