Job Description
  • We are seeking a talented Data Services Developer to join our team. You will design and develop operational data services exploiting cloud computing technologies to efficiently produce forecasts and contribute to setting the strategic direction for production of data services.
  • You will work collaboratively with Met Office scientists to develop high-quality code and implementations of their research, lead activities to develop their capabilities, and influence and negotiate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that forecast services fully meet their needs.

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge in a mathematical, physical or computational science or related discipline at a graduate or equivalent level. Good software development skills (e.g. in Python) and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply software tools and/or programming languages to solve software coding problems are also essential.
