Job Title: Senior Capital Actuary Insurance Specialist

Job Summary:
James Joseph Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Capital Actuary Insurance Specialist to lead our capital modelling team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and operating the capital model, ensuring it meets both regulatory and internal stakeholder needs. You will work closely with the Head of Capital to support the Board and senior management on matters related to capital requirements and the strategic use of the capital model.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and test data for the model
• Run and maintain calibration tools
• Update the internal model with new data and parameters, run it, and perform quality checks on the outputs
• Take a lead role in solving issues related to model changes and running tests on the model
• Ensure processes around the internal model are well maintained and function efficiently
• Implement strong version control for the model
• Test model outputs, including investigating issues and updating model code as needed
• Keep high-quality documentation of the model and its processes
• Run and document the model for regulatory submissions, such as LCR, IMO Return, and ORSA
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Finance team, Underwriting, and Risk
• Work under tight deadlines to produce accurate results

Requirements:
• Actuarial expertise at the level of a UK FIA-qualified actuary, along with strong IT skills
• Proficiency in either Igloo or Tyche is essential as the models are built on these platforms
• Coding skills in Excel VBA and R is preferred
• Knowledge of either General or Professional Lines Insurance, with insurance data management experience
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, including Lloyds, PRA, and Solvency II requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to those with some knowledge of the subject
