Diagnostic Imaging Specialist: Obstetric Ultrasound Expansion

NHS Scotland is a leading healthcare organization committed to improving the lives of its citizens. As a result of our continued growth and service expansion, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional Diagnostic Imaging Specialist in our Obstetric Ultrasound Department.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and motivated professional with a proven track record in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent field. A Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound is essential, with a strong preference for a Diploma-level certification. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess HCPC registration or an equivalent qualification and Basic Life Support certification.
As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality Obstetric Ultrasound examinations within our busy teaching hospitals. You will work collaboratively with a talented team to deliver exceptional patient care and contribute to the growth and development of our Ultrasound department.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert-level Obstetric Ultrasound examinations in our Maternity Ultrasound Departments
- Working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
- Developing and maintaining expertise in Medical Ultrasound, adhering to the latest clinical guidelines and best practices
- Participating in the delivery of training and education programs to enhance team knowledge and skills
- Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to NHS Scotland's data protection policies and procedures
This is a fixed-term (12 months) B6 post, with the possibility of progression to a permanent B7 Sonographer position upon obtaining a PgC qualification. The salary for this role is estimated to be around £33,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
