**Job Title:** Life Safety Specialist
**Department:** Sports and Recreation Department
**Accountable to:** Safety and Security Manager
**Location:** Stowe School Campus
**Job Purpose:** To maintain a safe and secure environment in the swimming pool area, providing surveillance and emergency response services as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that lifesaving equipment and first aid supplies are properly maintained and up-to-date.
- To maintain constant surveillance of pool users, including members of the Stowe School community, and respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations.
- To provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of medical services.
- To collaborate with the School's Security Team to ensure a swift and effective response to emergencies.
- To secure the pool area and prepare it for pool sessions.
- To maintain a clean and safe pool environment, adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
- To present a professional image and attitude at all times, providing excellent customer service to pool users.
- To perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a safe and secure facility.
- To prepare and maintain accurate activity reports.
- To perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Pool shifts will be scheduled in advance, with flexibility to accommodate additional hours during school holidays to support external bookings and extended club activities.
**Person Specification:** Candidates will be selected based on their ability to meet the following requirements:
- Hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- possess skills in lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
- be able to prepare routine administrative paperwork
- have knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
- demonstrate knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
- be able to dive to a depth of 3.4 meters
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions

- Firmness
