Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at the East and North Herts Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community Services within Hoddesdon and our satellite clinic in Bishop Stortford.

About the Role
  • This is a fixed-term locum post as a job share with another consultant who is on a part-time basis.
  • The successful applicant will work alongside 2 substantive consultants and 3 specialty doctors and a multidisciplinary team consisting of family therapists, psychotherapists, psychologists, social workers, CAMHS practitioners, and clinical nurse specialists in the East CAMHS Team.
Main Responsibilities

To assess a young person's mental state, formulate a diagnosis, advise on treatment, and monitor the risks a young person poses, alongside the MDT. To undertake referral meetings, case reviews, provide opportunities for case-based discussion and teaching to the MDT, write letters and communications to General Medical Practitioners and other professionals as required, participate in various medical staff meetings within the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust as necessary.

Person Specification

Essential: MB BS or equivalent medical qualification, MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment, CCT in Psychiatry; OR Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry; OR within six months of achieving CCT/CESR at the time of interview.
