Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer - Manchester

We're searching for a skilled Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to help our client deliver reliable, high-performing services to our users. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems administration, software development, or DevOps and a desire to deepen their skills in reliability, automation, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside senior SREs to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the reliability of our systems.
  • Help automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency, using scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Go.
  • Collaborate with our DevOps team to support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Gain experience with different database technologies like SQL Server, Postgres, and NoSQL.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, learning best practices in incident response and collaborating with senior team members to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in software development, systems administration, or IT operations is preferred. Familiarity with Linux environments and basic networking is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or programming languages (Python, Perl, or Go) with a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms like Azure/AWS.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD or automation.
  • A problem-solving mindset, willingness to tackle technical challenges, eager to learn, and committed to finding solutions to complex problems.
  • Willingness to collaborate, receive feedback, and continuously develop new skills.
