Job Summary:

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Animal Welfare Apprentice and contribute to the success of our laboratory animal care program. You will work closely with experienced professionals to ensure the well-being of our animals and support the conduct of research studies.

The successful candidate will possess a passion for animal care and welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, reporting any issues or concerns, and participating in ongoing training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Clean and disinfect animal enclosures, equipment, and supplies
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
* Collect and record data related to animal care and welfare
* Handle animals safely and humanely, following established protocols
* Exercise and socialize animals to promote their physical and emotional well-being
* Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and report any issues or concerns to management

Requirements:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
* 1-2 years of experience in animal care or a related field
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
