Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 1

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teacher and pupils in the SEND department, ensuring every child succeeds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the teacher in the classroom, providing individualized attention to pupils as needed
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support pupils with special educational needs
  • Provide feedback and encouragement to pupils, promoting a growth mindset and a love of learning
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements:
  • GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths
  • Experience of working with or caring for children aged 11 to 16
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team and understand how children learn
  • Desirable: TA qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards
