**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in the UK, responsible for delivering key business projects and managing IT infrastructure.

This role requires an individual with strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for ensuring seamless system uptime.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on multiple IT projects simultaneously, managing project timelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

**About the Role:**

This is a challenging opportunity for a motivated and organized IT professional to take ownership of IT infrastructure management, focusing on system uptime, capacity planning, and security. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers to develop and implement IT strategies, aligning with industry best practices.

The selected individual will be responsible for:

  • Project Delivery: Assist in the conception, planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects from start to finish.
  • Third-line Support: Resolve complex third-line support issues for critical business systems, leveraging deep technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Infrastructure Management: Proactively manage IT infrastructure to ensure maximum system uptime, developing strategies to mitigate potential risks and outages.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date IT documentation in line with relevant standards (PCI DSS and ITIL). Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Maintain a viable business continuity and disaster recovery infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business operations.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor junior support staff, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure their development and growth within the team.
  • Capacity Planning: Participate in system capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation and efficient use of IT resources.
  • IT Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to review and propose IT infrastructure improvements, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • System Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain critical IT systems, including Microsoft servers, switches, SANs, VMware, telephony systems, and firewalls.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will require:

  • A strong background in IT infrastructure management, with expertise in Windows Server 2012 RDS, Exchange, SQL databases, media rotation, and capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and network storage infrastructure, including VMware ESX 5.x, Cisco 3750 and 3560 switches, ASA 5540 firewalls, IP, ADSL, and MPLS networks, and Cisco VPN configuration.
  • Experience with security technologies, including Websense, Mimecast, and Sophos.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality results, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

**Benefits Package:**

This role offers a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, plus benefits, including:
