**Job Title:** Mechanical Production Engineer

**Location:** Bridgwater

**Salary:** £40K-£45K

**Hours:** Monday - Friday 37.5 hours 8am-5:30pm

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Production Engineer to join our team at our Bridgwater factory. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the overall mechanical design of our products, including the development of new concepts and the refinement of existing designs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Determine project requirements, including product usage and functionality.
  • Design and produce 2D & 3D drawings using engineering design programs.
  • Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in our ERP system.
  • Adhere to specifications and industry standards while ensuring products meet consumer needs.
  • Determine manufacturing requirements and processes with the Operations Department.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and supply chains for key suppliers.
  • Determine production costs and strategize cost-effective production methods.
  • Evaluate final products for appearance, performance, functionality, durability, and safety.
  • Implement feedback and make revisions.
  • Generate and maintain BOMs.

**Requirements:**

  • Engineering-related qualification (BEng/HNC/HND/Bachelor's degree) in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a production design engineer.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
  • Proficient with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Solidworks.
  • Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Attentive to detail and critically minded.
  • Ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to establish and develop relationships with internal and external sources.
  • Ability to be flexible and open to changes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.

**Benefits:**

  • 37.5 hours per week with core hours 8am-5:30pm, 5 days a week.
  • 20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days + bank holidays with experience.
  • 3 days allocated for Christmas shutdown.
