Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Support Nurse to provide maternity leave cover in our care home. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading on clinical nursing care, assessing and monitoring residents' needs, and undertaking clinical procedures and administering medication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Clinical Deputy Manager in leading on clinical nursing care, including assessing and monitoring residents' needs and undertaking clinical procedures and administering medication.
  • Role model and advocate a holistic approach to care, working with the wider care home team to provide a high-quality service.
  • Lead on admissions, discharges, complex clinical care needs, medical emergencies, and end-of-life care.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including GPs, pharmacists, residents, and their relatives and friends.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to clinical care, including care plans, audits, incidents, changes to health and well-being, finances, health and safety, and moving and handling.
  • Disseminate knowledge to develop the nursing team, including preceptors, students, and Registered Nursing Associates.
  • Develop 'specialist' status for designated clinical areas through further qualifications and training.
  • Take on a leadership role, covering more senior posts when required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of working in a care home or similar setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
