About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at Ryecroft School, a specialist provision for pupils with Autism and complex needs.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in developing the school's pastoral care system, providing support to teachers and pupils to overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies to support pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Provide individualised support to pupils to help them achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to the development of the school's behaviour policy and procedures

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English, grade C or above
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Ability to build relationships with pupils and young people
  • Driving Licence

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working with young people, preferably in an educational setting
  • Qualification related to Child or Social Care
