AnnieMac Home Mortgage is a leading mortgage lender seeking highly motivated and experienced professionals to join our team as External Mortgage Loan Originators.

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus excellent commission opportunities.

**Job Description:**

The primary duty of the External Mortgage Loan Originator position is to sell mortgage loans to customers away from and outside of AnnieMac Home Mortgages places of business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business by building and maintaining relationships with realtors, real estate agents, title and escrow officers, financial advisers, CPAs, and other relevant professionals.
  • Regularly participating in mortgage sales including attending closings and open houses, conducting seminars and other lead-generating activities.
  • Taking information from borrowers and filling out loan applications.
  • Developing relationships with referral partners such as realtors to generate new customers.
  • Analyzing prospective borrowers' income and debt and pre-qualifying them to determine the maximum mortgage they can afford.
  • Counseling borrowers in the home buying and financing process, advising them about different types of loan products available, and demonstrating how closing costs and monthly payments would vary under each product.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

  • A thorough knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies.
  • A working knowledge of credit underwriting and property eligibility requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and national laws, zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze financial information.
  • Sales-oriented self-starter mindset.
