HCRG Care Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at HMP Chelmsford. As a Psychiatrist within our prison service, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality mental health care to individuals in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct medical assessments and provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
  • Formulate complex cases involving both medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Actively participate in shaping the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians in service development, and provide clinical supervision.
  • Work within the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews.
  • Implement clinical guidelines and best practices.
  • Promote key service values including evidence-based treatment, collaborative teamwork, coordinated care, and efficient risk management.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational colleagues to oversee and improve the team's clinical performance.
Requirements:
  • Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and personality disorders.
  • Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation.
