About the Role

Electrical Fitter - Power Station Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to join our Field Service team, providing maintenance and repair services to our customers across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a good understanding of Generator Mechanical / Electrical works and able to demonstrate this across different technologies.
  • Apply all the trade-specific skills for Electrical Fitter and any of the basic and general skills required in order to effectively undertake duties in a safe and competent manner.
  • Follows high level instruction from the Supervisor and Site Manager.
  • Take responsible for own work, within the set guidelines. Expected to highlight issues, defects to the appropriate level.
  • Assists in the execution of the day-to-day work.
  • Review, advise and resolve all potential and actual site issues related to the scope of work.
  • Complete inspection record sheets, as requested by your supervisor, and to sign as complete and accurate.
  • Able to work within safety guidelines and familiar with risk assessments, method statements and safe working practices.

What You Bring
  • A time served electrical/mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Electrical fitting (Winding) experience preferably on Power Stations and Site Works.
  • Communication skills essential.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Good knowledge and proven experience with the carrying out of repairs on air cooled, hydrogen-cooled and water-cooled generator stators and rotors.
  • Experience with mechanical strip and rebuild during minor, medium and major overhauls of both air and hydrogen cooled generators.
  • Ability to work collaboratively (internally and with external partners) and individually to achieve results.
  • Flexible to meet the changing needs of site work.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills is an advantage.
