About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a Mechanical Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of mechanical solutions on complex systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, and driving innovation in product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design work packages and manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Develop and implement robust design solutions across the product life cycle, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive innovation and improve product development processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in product development.
Requirements
  • Degree/HND/HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in mechanical design and development.
  • Proven track record of leading mechanical design work packages and managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of product life cycle management, including CADMID and CAE tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Experience of supplier engagement and development, with a focus on driving innovation and improvement.
