Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in feasibility studies and write procurement reports
  • Estimate and plan costs, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
  • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing the tender report
  • Conduct contract administration
  • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and conducting valuations on larger projects
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts
  • Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants
  • Work collaboratively with the project management team
  • Lead a cost management team where appropriate
  • Utilize digital cost management tools and services

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for new business with existing clients
  • Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
  • Assist in bid documentation production
  • Identify ways to improve cost management procedures
  • Participate in external groups and activities

Accountabilities:

A Cost Manager will be assessed by the following:

  • Effective management of commissions to quality standards
  • Service delivery in line with conditions of appointment
  • Development of good relationships with clients
  • Contribution to the cost management team
  • Identification of new business opportunities with existing clients
  • Tracking of margin levels on all commissions
  • Retention of key information and data

Qualifications:
