Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newport
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30
Pay: Minimum £83.85 per day
Job Type: Temporary
We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Newport. The successful candidate will work in a mainstream classroom, providing extra support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Responsibilities:
- Work with pupils, staff, and parents to build trusting relationships and provide social and emotional support.
- Create a positive and caring environment for pupils to thrive.
- Adhere to the school's safeguarding and protection policies.
- Work as part of a strong team with fellow Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
- Be adaptable and able to respond to situations as they arise.
Requirements:
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Hold a Child only DBS certificate registered on the Update System.
- Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.
- Be strong and resilient when facing challenging behaviour.
About the School:
This school is based in Newport and is easily accessible via public transport. They have around 600 pupils and a dedicated class base to support pupils with ALN. The school aims to be the 'centre of equity and excellence for learning and wellbeing'.
