Job Overview

South Central Ambulance Service NHS is seeking a skilled Fleet Parts Specialist to manage and maintain stock records for its ambulance fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience in stock management and ordering, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ordering stock parts, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining accurate stock records.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of vehicles and equipment, and to contribute to the efficient operation of the ambulance service.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Administer and manage stock ordering for ambulances and other vehicles, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed to the required standards.
  2. Liaise with suppliers on stock ordering, returns, queries, and price differences, ensuring that continuous stock records are accurate and reflective of the stock holding.
  3. Conduct regular stock analysis to investigate avenues for cost savings and improvements to processes and procedures.
  4. Embrace the digitalization of the workshop environment and support the rollout of digital job cards, parts barcodes, and records.
  5. Conduct regular stock counts and suggest process improvement methodology to management to ensure minimal stock differences.
  6. Maintain records relating to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  7. Have due regard to the health and safety of yourself and others, reporting any hazards or accidents immediately.
  8. Be aware of and follow security procedures.
  9. Attend training courses relating to the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
  10. Participate fully in all income generation and cost savings work relevant to the Fleet maintenance operation.
