About the Role

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Specialist with nuclear expertise to join our team in Plymouth.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity, working mostly from home. As a Mechanical Project Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Design Manager in delivering project scope, managing the delivery of nuclear process work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.

Key responsibilities include managing technical aspects of nuclear process engineering packages from identification of need through to handover. You will ensure design documentation covers scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule and budget.

In addition, you will plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project's technical planning process. Ensure processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.

To succeed in this role, you'll have experience in a similar position and possess the following skills:

  • A degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Both process and mechanical engineering background
  • Experience in high-hazard industry, preferably in nuclear

Please note that due to security nature of this role, we can only consider those who are sole British nationals and have lived in the UK in the last 5 years, eligible for SC security clearance.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
