Rockbourne is pleased to be retained by a leading Real Estate firm specialising in developing and managing high-quality Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) in helping them appoint a new Analyst/Associate to their team.

The Company

The client is a significant player in the US living market and has recently announced their expansion into the European market targeting PBSA in the UK and Ireland.

The Role

This position is an opportunity for you to join an exciting, dynamic start-up business with a large, well-capitalised parent. You will be working within a high-performing team and will play a leading role in helping them forge a new business in the UK and, potentially, beyond this.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the 'engine room' in appraising new deals, putting memos and decks together and improving capacity across the team.
  • Assess potential development opportunities across the UK.
  • Build financial models and cost models to monitor existing projects and assess new development opportunities.
  • Initial screening of investment opportunities and performing due diligence on approved transactions.
  • Assist with information dissemination and analysis for acquisitions, financings, recapitalisations, and dispositions.
  • Assist with preparation of cash flow analyses and investment return projections.
  • Assist with the sourcing and closing of debt.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of Commercial Real Estate experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Undergraduate degree is required, preferably with a focus in Business, Real Estate, Finance, or other relevant subject matter.
  • Prior residential (specifically PBSA) investment/deal experience is desirable, not essential.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong preference for knowledge/understanding of JV structuring, debt capital markets, waterfall analysis.
  • Advanced understanding of underwriting and investment concepts and the ability to apply concepts.
  • Advanced financial and analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

What We Offer

  • Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 (DOE) + discretionary bonus.
