Compliance Specialist

Premier Group Recruitment is seeking a skilled Compliance Manager to join our client, a leading machinery manufacturer in Biggleswade. This key role ensures the company's products and processes meet all regulatory, safety, and quality standards, driving compliance and continuous improvement across the business.
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is £55,000 per annum (plus benefits), commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Job Description
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for leading compliance efforts to ensure products meet national and international standards. This includes managing product certification processes and liaising with regulatory bodies, conducting risk assessments and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, developing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and documentation, overseeing audits and inspections, both internal and external, providing training and guidance to staff on regulatory requirements and best practices, and monitoring changes in legislation and implementing necessary updates to company processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a compliance or quality management role within machinery manufacturing or a related sector. Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, including CE, UKCA, ISO 9001, and machinery directives, familiarity with health and safety standards, such as PUWER, ATEX, or equivalent, experience in risk assessment, audits, and certification processes, strong project management and leadership skills, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and proficiency in compliance and documentation management tools are required.
