About this role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our Youth Justice Service as a Youth Offending Team Officer. This role involves working with a varied caseload of young people subject to Criminal Justice Disposals and their families.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed assessments and work with young people to develop plans
  • Participate in a duty rota undertaking core tasks of the YJS, including work at Court and in Police Stations
  • Prepare pre-sentence and other reports for the Courts

Requirements

  • Experience of working with and engaging young people and families with complex needs within the Criminal Justice System
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and work with complex issues

Important information

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children's Barred List check.
