CCN and Practice Development Nurse, Children's Community Nursing Team

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an expanding service to optimise the health and well-being of children and young people in Croydon.

The Children's Community Nursing Team provides holistic care to children and young people with acute, highly complex, and unstable long-term conditions in partnership with the multidisciplinary team, statutory and voluntary organisations.

We are fortunate to have Specialist Nurses that work in partnership with our team, inclusive of a Neurodisability CNS, Transition CNS, Oncology CNS, and Epilepsy CNS.

The post holder will be part of the senior leadership team developing community services for children and young people and ensuring care is evidence-based and in line with Local and National Guidelines.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to work as part of the wider Paediatric Nursing Practice Development Team and will receive clinical supervision with these colleagues.

There will be the opportunity to undertake a postgraduate teaching qualification at master's level and Professional Nurse Advocate training.

The post holder will work alongside the senior management team to implement robust governance in relation to staff training and development, NICE guidance, the development of policies and procedures relating to children's community nursing, and staff training and support following clinical incidents and RADAR reviews.

The post holder will work in accordance with the Department of Health, Nursing and Midwifery Council, and trust policies relating to infection control, safeguarding children/adults, standards of record keeping, medicines management, learning disabilities, privacy and dignity, and other policies as appropriate to the designated areas.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provides hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon.

The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.

Around 4,100 staff provide services for a population of over 360,000 people who are relatively young with a high level of ethnic diversity.

Our main hospital site, Croydon University Hospital, is one of the busiest in London.

Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals, and community matrons look after people of all ages across Croydon, and our Children's Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to the hospital.

If you want the opportunity to have a real impact, challenge yourself, and be part of an NHS Trust, then a career at Croydon Health Services could be just what you're looking for.
