Job Title: AWS Cloud Systems Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team at Vertex IT Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our Infrastructure Services Team, you will be responsible for providing 3rd line support for all issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide 3rd line investigation and diagnosis, liaising with 3rd parties when required to ensure prompt resolution
  2. Ensure systems are being monitored effectively and the monitoring process is documented and agreed
  3. Support the technical approval process for all planned changes, ensuring that appropriate technical implementation plans, test plans, and contingency plans are in place
  4. Take ownership of the patch management of clients' infrastructure including compute devices, software, and other hardware
  5. Identify opportunities for improvement and candidates for automation

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 2 years 2nd/3rd line / NOC experience within an MSP environment
  2. Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  3. Strong understanding of and experience with Microsoft's cloud offering including Office 365 and Azure
  4. Strong understanding of and experience with virtualization platforms
  5. Comprehensive Microsoft stack knowledge

Desirable:

  1. Automation and scripting knowledge
  2. Experience with security products and the cyber threat landscape
  3. Linux administration skills
