About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of electrical systems for remote operations in the nuclear industry.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for remote operations, including control panels, electrical equipment, and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design calculations, risk assessments, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Provide technical direction to technician and craft personnel.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to procure equipment and materials.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or closely related subject.
- Experience with 2D CAD design packages, preferably AutoCAD.
- Knowledge and experience of applying legislative and regulatory requirements relating to engineering product development projects and CE/UKCA marking.
- A working knowledge of relevant safety legislation and quality and environmental standards.
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
