Job Description

Our Head Office Financial Recovery Team at Connells Group HQ has an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join their busy team. The Debt Recovery Specialist will be responsible for maintaining debtor accounts and ensuring all overdue invoices are chased and paid on a timely basis, in line with company policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Chase overdue invoices by following up with debtors to ensure timely payment, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity, including correspondence and payment updates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with branches and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support the Debt Recovery team by covering for colleagues during absences and providing backup as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a timely and effective manner, providing clear and concise information as required.
  • Monitor the Debt Recovery mailbox daily and investigate and respond to all queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager, to ensure the smooth operation of the Debt Recovery team.
Requirements:
  • Tenacity and enthusiasm for debt recovery and financial administration.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Good keyboard skills and competence in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High standard of numeracy and accuracy, with attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Outgoing and confident personality with the ability to operate at all levels, from colleagues to senior management.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of best practices to positively impact business results.
  • Ability to recognise potential risks to the company and escalate as necessary.
