Management Accountant Opportunity

Leading Car Dealership in Peterborough is seeking a Management Accountant to join their Head Office team. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of management accounts, working closely with an Accounts Assistant to ensure timely completion of month-end tasks. You will also partner with site stakeholders to provide performance insights, improve processes, and promote best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Full accountability of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Support Accounts Assistant to improve efficiency and accuracy of transactional processes
  • Periodic ledger reviews with Accounts Assistant and site management
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
  • Review and authorise bank payments
  • Detailed analysis of revenue and expense lines
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Vehicle bonus review, coding, and processing
  • Manufacturer reporting and analysis
  • Payroll focal point
  • VAT
  • Develop and maintain relationships with site management team
  • Year-end audit
  • Ad-hoc duties/projects as per business demands
Requirements:
  • Pragmatic individual with strong influencing and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to balance accounting standards and business needs
  • Intermediate/advanced level of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to deep dive into details and see the bigger picture
  • Team player with a hands-on approach
  • Motor trade experience advantageous but not essential
  • Good and effective communicator
  • Excellent organisation skills
