As a Technical Processing Engineer at Kingspan Insulation Ltd, you will be responsible for providing full support to our Pembridge site in terms of process chemistry and technical support to enable current and future low-cost, high-quality, and compliant production of insulation boards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for chemical and process optimisation to ensure continuous production of polyisocyanurate, phenolic, vacuum insulated, and Alpha core insulation board, meeting product quality standards with minimal re-testing.
  • Participate in corrective action for product failures attributable to processing, including customer and site visits.
  • Understand local quality assurance test methods, harmonised product standards, and associated test standards, ensuring technical performance and conformity to customer application requirements.
  • Develop knowledge of continuous production systems to act as a resource for Production teams at Pembridge and other GB sites, providing substantive advice in meetings.
  • Assist with trials for new product development and existing improvements in conjunction with the Product and Process Development team, adhering to CMEx methodology and change management processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data for continuous improvement through management information technology systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers, technical establishments, certification bodies, and customers, or attend conferences or further training as required, to further the company's interests.
  • Act lawfully in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) 1974, with due regard to Health and Safety and the environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical, or Processing Engineering, or a similar subject.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Application of problem-solving tools.
  • Excellent numeracy skills and ability to analyse data for trends.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Experience of working with various IT programs, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to act quickly and decisively when problems arise.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Experience of working with and understanding ISO and EN Product Standards.
