We're seeking an accomplished individual to join our esteemed Private Client Tax team in Bristol. This team is responsible for developing relationships and new business opportunities to provide a range of tax and other services to private client individuals.

Job Overview

As a highly respected Private Client Tax Director, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert strategic and technical guidance to clients regarding their personal tax affairs.
  • Maintaining the highest level of quality control, ensuring compliance with internal procedures to minimize risk exposure.
  • Effective financial management, monitoring chargeable hours, utilization, recoveries, WIP, billing, and lockup for you and your team, with a focus on minimizing lockup and regular billing to clients.
  • Staff management and development, working closely with your HoB to maximize direct reports' work potential through skills enhancement, knowledge expansion, management style improvement, and exceptional client care.

Key Performance Indicators

You will be expected to:

  • Work under your direction and achieve a client portfolio worth at least £500,000 annually, unless significantly contributing to management or possessing strong technical expertise.
  • Achieve a minimum of 900-1,000 chargeable hours annually as a full-time director, unless actively involved in management.
  • Ensure tight control over debtors and demonstrate a commercial approach when dealing with outstanding fees.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A degree-level education and relevant certifications, such as Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Adviser.
  • Substantial knowledge and hands-on experience in private client tax services acquired within a professional services firm or boutique advisory practice.
  • Proven expertise and knowledge in staff management.
