SEND Teaching Assistant Job Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Primary School in Richmond. The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the SENCO to support whole class learning or with small groups of students or on a 1:1 basis.

The Role
  • Support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
  • Work with children and young people who have a range of additional and often complex SEND, such as ADHD, ASC, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs, and resistant behaviour.
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.

Job Requirements
  • A degree and strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work and the behaviours of students.
  • A good understanding of the way children learn and previous knowledge of ASC and ADHD.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • A positive and resilient mindset.
