About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physics Monitor to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. As a Health Physics Monitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on radiological protection and ensure compliance with NNL and external requirements.
  • Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and data to support NNL management.
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists to identify trends and develop a holistic picture of issues and concerns.
  • Ensure that specialist advice is proportionate and effective in addressing safety and security risks.
  • Attend training courses to maintain a high standard of knowledge and skills within the role.
  • Provide emergency response for Health Physics matters.
  • Report issues and behaviors that cause concern in the workplace.

Requirements

  • City and Guilds Level 1 in Radiation Protection or NVQ Level 2 in Radiation Protection.
  • Experience working as a Health Physics monitor in a Nuclear facility.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, Environmental Permitting Regulations (amended) 2011 & Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
