Job Title: Commercial Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Estimator to join our team in Exeter. As a key member of our bid team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring competitive bids and managing risk and value during the tender period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize construction knowledge and commercial experience to prepare budgets and cost plans.
  • Manage risk and value throughout the tender period, preparing the tender risk register.
  • Attend strategy and opportunity meetings with project teams.
  • Visit sites to identify site-specific risks.
  • Adjudicate and compare subcontractor quotations.
  • Presentation of the tender to senior management, highlighting major commercial issues.
  • Ensure a smooth handover of projects to the operational team.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate construction-related degree or similar.
  • Competent use of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience of using estimating software.
  • Well-developed technical construction knowledge.
  • Awareness of BIM and cost planning.
  • Sound technical and commercial abilities, including risk awareness.
