Job Opportunity: Wiltshire College & University Centre is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Trainer/Assessor in Residential Childcare to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to deliver high-quality training, coaching, and mentoring to learners in residential childcare. As a Trainer/Assessor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students and contributing to their personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering Excellence:
    • Design and deliver engaging learning experiences that ignite curiosity and drive success.
    • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Building Partnerships:
    • Forge strong relationships with employers and their learners to ensure seamless integration of industry needs and classroom learning.
  • Compliance Champion:
    • Regularly monitor learner environments to ensure safety and adherence to policies.
    • Stay up-to-date with teaching, learning, and assessment regulations to champion best practices and uphold our commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant Residential Childcare qualification at Level 4 or above.
  • Possess or be willing to work towards an assessor qualification (within 6 months of appointment).
  • Have recent experience working in a Residential Childcare position, working with children and young people looked after by their local authority.
  • Have supported the families of the children and young people you have cared for, including liaising with relevant external agencies.
