Are you passionate about supporting people with disabilities? Do you want to work for a charity that truly makes a difference? Sense is a national disability charity that empowers people who are deafblind or have complex disabilities to communicate, experience the world, and fulfill their potential.
We are looking for a Weekend Support Worker to join our amazing residential team in Deeping St James. As a Support Worker, you will work with 6 adults with learning and/or sensory disabilities, providing care and support to help them live independently. You will be responsible for assisting with everyday tasks, personal care, finances, medication, and wellbeing, as well as supporting them in the community for shopping or other trips.
This is a permanent role working an average of 7.5 hours per week on weekends only, with a shift pattern of Saturday and Sunday every other weekend. You will work day shifts between 7am and 10pm, with the possibility of regular sleep-in shifts paid at £50 a night. You will be rewarded with an hourly rate from £11.75, with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews/rises.
We offer a range of benefits, including 32 days of annual leave, matched pension contributions up to 5%, free life assurance policy, cashback and discounts on high street brands, cycle to work scheme, travel season ticket loans, enhanced sick pay, and free access to over 100 online and face-to-face training courses. This role might include supporting people with everyday tasks, personal care, finances, medication, and wellbeing, as well as going into the community for shopping or other trips. Everyone we support is an individual, so their care is as unique as they are. You can see a more detailed description of duties in the job description attached at the bottom of this advert.
