Job Title: Study Skills Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad. As a Study Skills Support Specialist, you will work closely with students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) to provide personalized academic support and guidance.

About the Role:

This is a hybrid role that requires flexibility to work with students in person and online. You will be responsible for developing customized learning plans to meet the specific needs of each student, fostering their independence in learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs)
  • Develop and implement customized learning plans to meet the needs of each student
  • Support students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organization and time management
  • Work with students to create action plans to stay on track with their studies
  • Support students to develop research skills, including finding and using a variety of sources, and distinguishing appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
  • Support students to develop comprehension skills in reading and writing
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:

  • British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
  • Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
