Role Overview

Finitas is seeking a highly skilled Senior Delegated Authority Account Manager to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting department, you will be responsible for managing a designated panel of brokers and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive the profitable growth of delegated authority schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broker Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, taking full ownership of generating profitable business.
  • Scheme Performance Analysis: Collaborate across Underwriting and Operations to review scheme performance, identify growth opportunities, and enhance profitability.
  • Account Analysis and Improvement: Analyse underperforming accounts, working with Senior Underwriters to implement improvement actions.
  • Departmental Planning and Budgeting: Participate in the planning and setting of departmental KPIs and budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Account Servicing and Premium Collection: Ensure timely and accurate account servicing, assist with premium collection, and support credit control processes.
  • Team Support and Development: Support junior team members by acting as a technical referral point and contributing to their development.
  • Regular Analysis and Reporting: Perform regular analysis of accounts and prepare reports for internal and external meetings.
  • Renewal Meetings and Proposal Preparation: Attend binder renewal meetings, preparing and presenting renewal proposals to the Underwriting Committee.
  • Audit Support and Recommendations: Assist in annual cover holder audits, write audit reports, and follow up on audit recommendations.
  • Market Insights and Product Improvements: Provide insights on competitors, market conditions, and product improvements to senior management.
  • Underwriting Guides and Documentation Review: Assist in reviewing and updating underwriting guides, rating structures, and business documentation as required.

About You

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience managing delegated authority accounts, ideally from an insurance carrier or MGA.
  • Relationship Management Skills: Proven relationship management skills with excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the UK Insurance Market: Knowledge of the UK insurance market, including regulatory requirements and underwriting practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical skills with the ability to write reports and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet business objectives.
