Children's Support Worker

Little Mochtas Creche is seeking a dedicated and compassionate AIM Worker to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and caring individual to support the development and well-being of children in our creche. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our care team to achieve specific goals for each child.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of tasks, including nappy changing, toileting, sterilising, feeding, nap supervision, and engaging in play activities.
- Conduct observations of children under the direction of the room leader to assess development and progress.
- Always follow the policies and procedures of the service to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Clean, tidy, and store equipment and toys after use to ensure a hygienic space for children.
- Coordinate and implement activities suitable for different age groups, promoting learning and development.
- Maintain the room and equipment to always ensure the health and safety of children.
- Liaise with the child's care team to work cohesively towards specific goals set for each individual child.
- Ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained throughout the creche.
- Organise materials and toys to enhance children's play and learning experiences.
- Support children's emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development during activities.
- Attend meetings and undergo training as required to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Be aware of child protection procedures and promptly report any concerns to the manager.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding children and their families; any breach will constitute gross misconduct.
- Perform other reasonable and relevant duties as assigned.
- Qualifications: Minimum FETAC Level 5 in Childcare; FETAC Level 5 in Occupational First Aid is an advantage.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate: Kindness, warmth, and responsiveness to the needs of children.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, staff, and parents.
- Sense of humour: Ability to engage children and create a fun, supportive environment.
- Knowledgeable: Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to childcare.
