Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Officer to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our HR Operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting our Family Care Corporate and DERI Divisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about HR and wants to develop their career within our compassionate and inclusive team. You will have the chance to work collaboratively with our HR Business Partnering and Operations team to provide operational support, advice, and guidance to managers and staff on HR matters.

Main Duties of the Job

As an HR Officer, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of operational support, advice, and guidance to managers and staff on HR matters, including sickness absence and local terms and conditions. You will also be involved in the delivery of training and consultation with Trade Unions.

Person Specification
  • Certification in Human Resource Practice - CIPD Foundation qualification in HR (Level 3) or equivalent qualification or equivalent level of knowledge/experience
  • GCSE at Grade 5 / C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Experience
  • Previous experience of working within Human Resources or equivalent knowledge
  • Experience applying HR policy and practice to practical situations, or equivalent knowledge
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment practices, HR Policies and Procedures
  • Computer skills including experience in the use of databases, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel evidenced by the ability to produce reports and tables and present statistical information in a clear format
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law
