As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Pharmacy Stores Supervisor and Pharmacy Technicians in maintaining accurate stock levels, processing orders, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the pharmacy store.
Key Responsibilities- Stock Management: Maintain accurate stock levels, identify and receive drugs against official orders, and update stock levels using the Pharmacy Computer system.
- Order Processing: Load and operate the automated pharmacy storage and dispensing system, participate in the ward top-up system, and appropriately dispose of pharmaceutical items.
- Customer Service: Answer the pharmacy stores hatch, deal with all grades of healthcare workers, porters, and external delivery drivers, and provide excellent customer service.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and tidy working environment, follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately, and maintain accurate manual and computer records.
- Waste Management: Assist with waste management, support the movement of work around the organization, and follow all Health and Safety standards in compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of pharmacy procedures and protocols.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
