Machine Shop Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee machine shop operations and assist the manager in planning, programming, and executing machining tasks on various CNC machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Constructing and proving CNC programmes for new components.
  • Supervising the production engineering team and assisting in the design and commissioning of fixtures and tooling necessary for machining new components.
  • Training and development of operators to ensure proper execution of defined processes.
  • Assisting with the management and planning of production / workload in accordance with business priorities.
  • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (3 years).
  • CNC Experience - both turning and milling on manual machines, manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances & program both driven Y, C axis lathes and vertical milling machine centres.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive team player.
  • Ability to provide solutions to decrease cycle times and overcome day-to-day machining issues.
  • A good knowledge of appropriate cutting data for machining a variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium, and brass.
