Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Life Support Equipment Specialist to join our dynamic team at the Lane Fox Unit. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and technical support of life-support equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to contribute directly to the well-being of patients in both hospital and community settings. You will have a scientific or engineering background, be able to demonstrate an ability to think logically, and show a desire to work in a well-respected engineering team.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine servicing and maintenance of life-support ventilators and other medical devices across the Hospital, Community, and satellite units.
  2. Safety Compliance: Conduct safety checks to ensure all repaired equipment is mechanically and electrically sound, adhering to Departmental policies and manufacturers specifications.
  3. Reporting & Documentation: Document and report equipment defects, ensuring non-compliant devices are promptly withdrawn from service.
  4. Contamination Procedures: Follow specified procedures for handling and decontaminating of equipment.
  5. Calibration: Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure both accuracy and reliability.
  6. On-Call Support: Participate in a 24-hour On-Call Rota, providing emergency technical support.
